At Snow’s urging, Never climbs into the Folhan Mountains to search for the Altar of Stars, which he must reach by the new moon. Yet he cannot shake off his doubts; will the answers he seeks even reside with the altar? Or is Snow manipulating him once more?
Today is the launch for The Peaks of Autumn – the 4th installment in Never’s quest for not only his true name but also for a way to break the curse on his blood.
As you probably know by now, I’m thrilled by the cover (thanks, Lin and Vivid Covers) and have been busting to release this one, to get that beautiful artwork out there (and the story itself too) While most of the Never stories up until now have been novella-length, this one is a novel (albeit a short one) and I hope you’ll find the extra time spent with Never to be full of action and surprises.
If you want to read right away and are in a position to financially support my writing you can find purchase links right here:

Calling all Goodreads users!
I've recently opened a giveaway for the print edition of the Book of Never (featuring the first three of Never's adventures combined) and wanted to share the details here in case you'd like to enter - just click below :)
(Well - the ebook will be a virtual 'box' and the print version of the collection will be the three volumes in a single 400+ page book so you'd have to image that there was an actual box :D)
Is it odd or fitting to say a book has gone 'live'?
Lots of books seem alive to me, heaps of them changed the way I've felt or thought, which seems pretty lively to me, so why not? :)
On that note, Crossings has gone live on the various Amazon sites and will soon be on other e-retailers like Kobo, B&N and Angus & Robertson - here's some of the links:
If you happen to grab a copy I'd love to hear what you think :)
Today I've got a bit of a mixture of links to a range of things, a couple of interviews, a review, a blog post, and a giveaway and so without further rambling, here's the list :D
I recently started working with an ace group of writers who've banded together under the name Quill. We're a cross-genre bunch trying to share interesting content and win fans - for my part you can check out a short interview and my post: Intro to World Building - Making it Stick.
Friday Fortnight Interview
A while back Kerry J Donovan conducted an interview on his blog - check it out if you're looking for a chuckle :) (And while you're there, if you like Crime-Thrillers have a look at his DCI Jones Casebook series, they're ace.)
With the release of Crossings not too far off (I'm gunning for October) I'm offering 3 ways to win a copy during the lead up :)
1. Visit Goodreads and add the book to your 'to-read' shelf and you'll be automatically notified when the Goodreads Giveaway goes live. (This one opens in Nov.)
2. Visit the 'newsletter' sign-up page in the top right of the site and that's it - you're in the running to win an e-copy of Crossings and you'll also receive the eBook for A Whisper of Leaves upon sign-up. (The newsletter comp will be announced in Oct.)
3. Visit the Crossings page and check out chapter one (or click here, it's probably quicker) and answer a simple question:
What does Lisa find on her doorstep?
Once you find the answer, just let me know by leaving a comment on this post OR by sending me an e-mail to mountain0ash[at]gmail[dot]com. The first two people to answer will win a print copy of Crossings :)
The Lost Mask
Some early reviews are in and it's a weight off my mind to see readers who enjoyed City of Masks are finding that The Lost Mask lives up to their expectations!
Here's a link to them on GR. Thanks to everyone who has read it already and let me know what they thought, it makes a big difference :)
Here's the new banner from Snapping Turtle with an announcement that The Lost Mask ebook is now live and available for purchase from Amazon!
I'm brimming with happiness but also nerves once again - as it's a Book 2 I'm really hoping I've not only done Book 1 justice but bettered it. Hopefully I find out in the coming weeks :)
This weekend I'm part of a promo featuring a heap of authors and their works, which are either free or on sale - you can check them out right here.
I've got The Fairy Wren ebook on special for $1 starting from right now (I'm on the right hand side and though my promo is listed as starting on Sunday, it's kicked in a day early on Amazon) but you can see all kinds of other genres and specials at the page too - one of which I recommend is Past Life Strife by Christina McMullen.
In terms of updates I've got a few but they're short - Crossings is going to copy edits in less than two weeks and then it's due to go to formatting for upload to retailers, so I'm hoping to get it out earlier than my estimated November release date :)
The Lost Mask is really, really close now - we're at proofing stage!
Here's the cover (which I love) if you missed it last time I updated the blog:
This means I'm also trying to charge through writing Greatmask, the conclusion to the Bone Mask Trilogy, so I'll hopefully have the progress bar ticking along on the right hand side there soon too. I'm also looking to run giveaways and other promos for Crossings and The Lost Mask in the near future too.
Speaking of promos - I'm also running a newsletter sign-up promo during 2015. You can check it out at the top right of the sidebar, but in short, every sign-up to the newsletter receives a copy of A Whisper of Leaves, my novella-length ghost story set in Japan :)
Free ebook with every newsletter sign up in 2016
