In March next year I'll be launching a new series - an epic fantasy collection of novellas following 'Never' as he tries to lift the curse on his blood and learn his true name. (And sorry to disappoint vampire fans but it's not a vampire story this time around, maybe one day)
Here's a sneak peak of the first chapter to The Amber Isle!
There's some randomness to this update, so try and bear with me as I ramble through it!
Firstly, I recently hit 90k on Greatmask - so we're definitely on track for a late 2016 release with that one. 'Mid' if the stars align, however, I don't want to promise anything of course! You can also read Notch's first two chapters over here, if you've finished The Lost Mask and want something to tide you over :D
Next month I'll be having Post-Christmas Sale on my paperbacks, so you ought to be able to get 'em cheaper at your fav retailers. I'm also having a Crossings post-launch giveaway - for all newsletter sign-ups from now to December 31 you'll get e-copies of both Crossings and A Whisper of Leaves :) (also, City of Masks ebook is 99c on Amazon right now, first time in ages it's been on special.)
I'm also planning to do a few posts on a few anime series/films - one of which will be a guest post and certainly one of which will be on the famed Cowboy Bebop - which definitely blew me away earlier in the year. Rich in intertextuality, it's also a lot of fun and has, hands down, the best OST I've heard.
And because I love Top Tens / Best Ofs etc etc I'm doing a Led Zeppelin 'ranked songs' list. It'll be titled something like 'All Zep songs from Least Fav to Most Fav' but slightly more elegant than that.
I'll do tiny write ups like this:
This is a pretty killer song that probably would have been ace on In Through the Outdoor – personally I’d have put this in the place of Hot Dog. It’s got a similar up-tempo feel so it probably wouldn’t have disrupted the flow of the album and is far superior I reckon. Love the outro too.
So, I'll get back to work for now and be back to post again before the 25th hits!
Here's the full map for the continent found in my Bone Mask Trilogy!
We haven't included a scale but everything is where it ought to be - except the Old Land, which is basically another continent. More on that in a future map :)
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the beautiful work Ren has done for me on this map - and if you're looking for yourself, you can commission illustration from her over at Fiver. Check out her awesome work!
Here's a sneak peak of the Bone Mask map I've been meaning to share - we first had the idea to do a map back when City of Masks was released so I'm excited to nearly share the map with everyone :)
Stay tuned for the full version soon! (And thanks to Ren for the amazing work - will share her full details with the next post)
