The Amber Isle (Book of Never #1) is unleashed!
If you're looking for a fun read that's a little bit like having Indiana Jones in an epic fantasy setting (with more sarcasm) then you might enjoy The Amber Isle.
Roguish 'Never' is on a quest to lift a curse on his blood and to learn his true name; but upon joining a group of treasure-hunters he soon finds himself unearthing world-altering secrets that have long lain dormant within the mysterious Amber Isle.
The Amber Isle is the first in a five book series that I'm releasing over the course of 2016. They'll start off as novellas and by book four and five, be closer to novel length. Each adventure has a distinct setting (such as the Amber Isle itself or the birch forests in Book 2) and will be closely linked by the main quest; Never's search for the truth about his name and his past.
I chat a little about the book during an interview with J. Evan Stuart if you'd like to read a little about behind the scenes have a look :)
I'm really happy with my pre-release reviews (thanks to the readers who were generous enough to read the story early!) You can check out one of them below:
Space and Sorcery
And also a few reviews over at Amazon too:

And for those of you interested in grabbing a copy of the ebook, here are some purchase links. The Amber Isle will be on sale for about $1 for launch week and then go up in price. (An omnibus print edition of books 1-3 will follow post July.)
It's time to compile some things that have been going on!
While I've been working to meet a few deadlines (another draft of Greatmask and various other projects :)) I took part in the 2016 2k Indie blog tour (moreso on twitter than here) where I was interviewed. I talk about The Fairy Wren and some background on writing it too.
On the tour you can also see HEAPS of other great writers and books - check out a master list and stay tuned for a review of one of the books featured there too!
I was also interviewed by Grace over at 'Inked' and there I talked about City of Masks, travel and poetry in one of my favourite interviews I've ever done! There's also a giveaway and coming up there in March where you can win both City of Masks and a copy of my latest poetry collection Between Giants & Old Stone :)
I've also got a few pre-release reviews for The Amber Isle to share in a few days when it launches on March 1st :) In the meantime, here's a third interview courtesy of J. Evan Stuart, where I talk a fair bit about the book and some of the decisions behind it.
In addition, I received a wonderful review for The Lost Mask over at Fantasy Literature which thrilled me to bits - I've been nervous about how the sequel would be received and I'm glad it's building on Book 1 by the sounds of things!
The Lost Mask review
AND last but certainly not in anyway least, I wanted to let you know about this giveaway - I was invited to submit City of Masks to a huge giveaway a little while ago and jumped at the chance.

The third chapter of The Amber Isle (Book of Never #1) has just been uploaded and is also available via the book's page AND it's now just over one week from official release :)
Congratulations to the winners of the ebook giveaway too, hope you enjoy the story :)
I've had a query about the print edition of Never's first adventure and thought I'd better mention that, as novellas of around 130 pages each, I plan to bundle the first three titles into an omnibus print edition then do the same with the final two books toward the end of the year. This means there will be a print version of The Amber Isle, A Forest of Eyes and River God combined sometime after July :)
Hey, just a quick note today - the second chapter of The Amber Isle (Book of Never #1) has just been uploaded to the book's page. (There you can also enter an ebook giveaway too).
Gearing up for the official release on March 1st, I'll also be uploading Chapter 3 next week keep an eye on the blog to read along.
At the book's page you can read Chapter 1 first if you haven't seen it or jump straight to chap 2 here.
Check out the new short story by Jennifer Fallon - a welcome return to the world of the Demon Child Trilogy :)

I've been lucky enough to have folks both review and interview me recently! You can see a review for Crossings here (+ a great interview too, thanks Ben!) and a review for City of Masks over here, thanks to Ana :)
It's also possible to download The Fairy Wren (for a limited time) via Noisetrade - where you can also browse thousands of books and albums from artists world wide, basically in exchange for your e-mail address. Authors and bands usually contact you after about future releases, but of course, you never have to stay signed up. HEAPS of great stuff over at Noisetrade, check it out if you've got a spare hour or seven.
The Amber Isle is soon to go into proofing and ARCs are out there as I type.
Greatmask is with the publisher and I expect I'll be working on edits on it soon too, so lots coming up! I also have a couple of freelance projects on the go as well, so no sleep for me for a while :D
Okay! I've also dropped the price on my print books for this month :)
The changes are filtering down to the various retail sites as you read this. Sadly, a lot of the AU retailers seem to use overseas suppliers, rather than using local POD, so the prices don't always go down the way they ought to. However, I've seen The Fairy Wren as low as $8.99 on Amazon and B&N (US) and $19.99 at Fishpond (AU). Readings (AU) also has A Whisper of Leaves for around $14.99 at the moment and the price drop is also visible on Indigo (CA) too.
